Tableau is the Solution – Dublin Tableau User Group

Ahead of the first Dublin Tableau User Group of the year, The Information Lab Ireland sat down with guest speaker Sharon Alin from Tableau.

Sharon moved to Dublin from Israel three years ago. She has over ten years experience in technical support and has worked with the likes of Microsoft, JFrog and IBM. She currently holds a Senior Technical Support Engineering role with Tableau’s top clients, giving support across all Tableau products.

On Wednesday she plans to bring some of the most common questions she and her team gets on that support desk and use them as a vehicle to discuss best practice and performance in Tableau.

“It sounds simple but I think what Tableau has taught me is that often the best way to look at data is to visualise it,” says Sharon. “I like that our solution is easy to use. If you take our workbook examples for instance, they help beginner users to start using the product very quickly. So it’s all quite intuitive.”

“On the evening of the TUG, I am going to bring some stories and known cases we often get in Tableau support,” says Sharon. “I am very excited to meet new faces, learn from our community and share my experience.”
