The Pain
Disparate data sources and inconsistent reports meant the finance team lacked a single source of truth. Manual processes limited visibility into profitability and slowed down reporting cycles. As a result, producing a consolidated view of revenue and profit was time-consuming and prone to error, leaving little time for meaningful analysis. Without accurate, timely insights, it was difficult to prioritise opportunities that would deliver stronger returns.
How We Helped Them
We used Microsoft Fabric to design and deliver a secure, centralised finance data model and reporting suite. The solution included:
Automated ingestion of financial data into a Fabric lakehouse.
A warehouse and semantic model to unify metrics across companies.
Reconciled and governed reporting to build trust in the numbers.
A suite of Power BI dashboards providing insights on Net Revenue, Gross to Net, and Wholesaler demand, for actuals, budget and forecast.
The Outcome
The new solution has given the client a single source of truth for revenue, delivering benefits across both finance and commercial teams:
• Unified view of revenue, budget, and forecast across companies.
• Improved accuracy through automated consolidation and reconciliation of key metrics..
• Time savings by replacing manual, Excel-based files and reports with centralised reports.
• Greater alignment between finance and commercial teams, with a shared view of revenue drivers.
• Future scalability with the ability to extend data inputs, add historical views, and easily incorporate additional data.
