Behind The Information Lab

Behind The Information Lab

Culture is all about people, and making a difference. Before we help you create a data-driven culture in your organisation, meet the people behind the figures.

Meet the team
Dave Hackett

Dave Hackett

CEO, Dublin

Dave Hackett

Dave brought The Information Lab’s vision to Dublin in 2016 with the blessing of TIL’s CEO and founder Tom Brown, who he met while he worked in finance in London.
“We dedicate ourselves to helping people make sense of data… it’s a culture shift,” Dave says.
Rob Carroll

Rob Carroll

Enterprise Account Manager, Dublin

Rob Carroll

Dubliner Rob lives and breathes data and has been helping our customers get the most from theirs since he joined The Information Lab. Rob is our Enterprise Account Manager but he is also one of the top Tableau and Alteryx experts in Ireland.
His motto: “Analysis should add value… it’s not just about crunching numbers.”
Kevin Lynch

Kevin Lynch

Chief Technical Officer, Dublin

Kevin Lynch

While he’s a graduate of pure mathematics, it’s not just about numbers for Kevin. He’s been a Tableau convert since he discovered the methods while working for a business intelligence team in 2012.
“Data is about reflecting reality and answering questions,” he says.
Ian Baldwin

Ian Baldwin

Consultant, Dublin

Ian Baldwin

East Londoner Ian is simply the most qualified Irish-based Alteryx consultant — and one of only 28 people in the world who’s qualified as an Alteryx Designer Expert. We’re glad that he sidestepped his civil engineering degree in 2016.
“Learning about concrete mixtures wasn’t for me,” he says. “The tool demos at TIL’s Data School blew me away.”
Tom Pilgrem

Tom Pilgrem

Head Coach, Dublin

Tom Pilgrem

A former SCUBA instructor and marine biologist, Tom decided to dive right into data analysis after discovering Tableau in a research lab. Before joining the Irish team in 2020, he spent two years working in The Information Lab’s Data School in the UK.
“The biggest draw for me with Tableau is the speed to insight,” he says.
Nikita Parab

Nikita Parab

Graduate Consultant, Dublin

Nikita Parab

Nikita, from Mumbai in India, was destined to join us when she started exploring Tableau for her Data Analytics Masters, then read about our graduate training programme.
“Data is always eager to answer the questions you have,” she says.
When she’s not serving up dynamic Tableau dashboards, she indulges her other passion, cooking.
Daisy Jones

Daisy Jones

Graduate Consultant, Dublin

Daisy Jones

After a Chinese studies degree and experience in retail, East Hampshire native Daisy caught the data bug when she met The Information Lab at the London Graduate Fair in 2019. Within a year of intensive self-learning, she was invited to Dublin to join the Graduate Training Programme.
Her favourite thing about data: “I can be creative with the design, and still get valuable insights.”
Siobhan Purcell

Siobhan Purcell

Graduate Consultant, Dublin

Siobhan Purcell

Siobhán’s data journey has involved biological research at Trinity College Dublin and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, and rapidly evolving technologies inevitably led her to Tableau, and The Information Lab.
“I’m always impressed by its ability to generate beautiful and interactive stories and dashboards,” she says.
Dave Pansegrouw

Dave Pansegrouw

Consultant & COO, Dublin

Dave Pansegrouw

David has 15 years’ experience in leading PMO teams and software engineers in enterprise organisations. His passion for data analytics started during his previous roles, driving change through process automation with Alteryx and Tableau. In November 2020, David became an Alteryx ACE.
“I love analysing data to derive value and uncovering truths that enable business leaders to make better business decisions,” he says.
Louise Shorten

Louise Shorten

Senior Tableau Consultant & Trainer, Dublin

Louise Shorten

Louise is from Dublin and has been working with data throughout her career in finance and analytics teams. Louise likes nothing more than finding solutions that give people the ability to access and analyse data, so they can do their jobs more efficiently.
“For me, data provides a solid foundation for decision making,” she says.
Daniel Ling

Daniel Ling

Senior Consultant with The Information Lab, Munster

Daniel Ling

Manchester’s Daniel Ling joined us in June 2018. His name kept popping up on our radar and when a number of his visualisations featured on Tableau Public it downright rude to ignore his talent. Luckily, Daniel had been keeping an eye on us too and the rest, as they say, is history.
“Looking back to how manual everything was amazes me as I now take Tableau's speed and ease of use for granted,” he says.
Jonathan O’Neill

Jonathan O’Neill

Consultant

Jonathan O’Neill

Jonathan comes from a finance background and has over 15 years experience in the field. Financial modelling and analysis have always played a big part in his working life. "The need for real time analysis and data driven decision making is driving the fourth industrial revolution. I want to be part of that revolution."
Harry Cooney

Harry Cooney

Consultant

Harry Cooney

Coming out of his Psychology degree, Harry knew he wanted a career which focused on stats and data. This led him to The Information Lab UK where he enjoyed two years of consulting with Alteryx and Tableau before joining the Irish team. “I love using data to make people’s lives easier by cutting out the mundane and repetitive tasks”.
